Bruins Add Defensive Depth

The Bruins were sitting with four goaltenders heading into the entry draft. Since league rules state that teams may only carry two goalies, it became evident that a move had to be made. This meant that Martin Biron was sent to the St. Louis Blues, who were in need of a backup goalie, along with the Bruins' 3rd round pick. In return the Bruins received 6'6" defenseman Andy Sutton who might not be getting any younger, but has enough in the tank to get the job done.

There was not much to consider regarding the trade as the deal helped both clubs fill holes on their rosters. With club scouts feeling there wasn't enough talent deep into the 3rd round, management felt it was best to move the pick in such a deal that would fill a need. The club welcomes it's latest member and looks forward to see #25 play hard whenever called upon.
